Drug charges were increased Thursday against Stacy A. Navarrete, 43, of North Platte. Navarette’s charges upgraded to eight counts of possession with intent to deliver. Originally she was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, plus possession of the prescription drugs Alprazolam, Ritalin, Klozapam, Diazepam, Suboxone and Tylenol 3.
Prosecutors now believe Navarette intended to deliver the prescription drugs, and charged her accordingly. She is also charged with another count of possession of meth with intent to deliver.
Each charge carries a penalty of 1-20 years and a fine up to $25,000.
Navarrete is in jail on a $200,000 bond. She asked for a public defender.
She was arrested shortly before 1 p.m. on Oct. 3 on a charge of possession of meth.
This occurred during a string of arrests that began around 9:25 a.m. that day, when an officer recognized Timothy Caudillo was driving without a license. Alicia Suhr, Keith Phelps and Fred Navarrete were also arrested before the day was over.
