Hershey wasted no time with Perkins County Thursday in the opening round of the South Platte Valley Association volleyball tournament.
Hershey (18-3) cruised past Perkins County (2-19) in three sets, 25-10, 25-4, 25-16 at the McGahan Activities Center..
The Lady Panthers got out to big leads early in each of the sets played. Their serving threw the Plainswomen off balance.
"We did a good job of regrouping and working together," Hershey coach Amy Beyer said. "Serving was good in the second and third sets and we did a decent job of staying in the system."
Two Hershey starters, Maegan Hiatt and Bobbi Brannan, were sidelined for the game.
"I was proud of the kids," Beyer said.
Hershey's Taylor Mustion made good on 19 of 21 serves, with four aces in the match. Maddie Seamann had 14 kills at the net and Brooke Munsen had 11 kills.
