Catholic schools on track in capital fundraisingTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Catholic schools capital pledge campaign is on course to raise nearly $1 million, Endowment Director Wendy Dodson told the school board Tuesday.

Dodson said the "Forward in Faith" capital campaign is on schedule, with volunteer committees distributing information. Pledges and donations are nearing $1 million, she said.

Commitment Sunday will be held at Holy Spirit and St. Patís parishes Nov. 23-24, where parishioners will be asked to complete pledge cards for the campaign.

The board of education also discussed upcoming board elections at their monthly meeting. Supt. Kevin Dodson said board elections will be held at Holy Spirit and St. Patrickís Churches on Nov. 2-3.

Candidates are sought from both parishes for the seats currently held by Deb OíMalley and Toni Slattery. Elections will take place after every service at both parishes on those two days.

Upcoming school activities include the conference volleyball tournament Oct. 17-19 at the McGahan Activities Center, plus homecoming on Friday, Oct. 18 and a faculty in-service day on Oct. 21.

The next school board meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the St. Patís High School library.
