Denver J. Lindsey
A car was stolen from the KODY radio parking lot early Monday morning, leading to a chase and the arrest of a man from Salt Lake City.
Police went to the radio station around 4:30 a.m. to investigate the reported stolen car, a 2009 Lincoln MKS from Janssen Motors, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.
The victim told investigators that the car was parked in the lot at 2:45 a.m. and turned up missing just before police were called, Brown said.
A couple hours later a Nebraska State trooper found the Lincoln in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Brown said the driver, a transient named Denver Lindsey, refused to stop, and a chase ensued.
The North Platte police joined the chase and it ended a short time later in the parking lot of Platte River Kidney Care at 785 E. Francis.
Lindsey, 23, is from North Salt Lake, Utah. He was taken into custody without further incident and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, flight to avoid arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lindsey had been staying at the Lincoln Connection homeless shelter, four blocks from the radio station, Brown said.
