The Hershey volleyball team had to work hard Thursday to defeat Sutherland, but the Lady Panthers got the job done in three straight sets.
Hershey (11-3) came out on top in the opening set, 25-22, and then cruised to a 25-9 win in the second set.
Sutherland (6-15) battled back in the third set and pushed all the way into overtime before falling, 27-25.
"It was nice to get a three-set win over a quality opponent," Hershey coach Amy Beyer said. "I thought we did a good job of serving (to specific) spots in the second set."
For Hershey, Brooke Munsen was a force at the net for Hershey with 14 kills in the match. Maegan Hiatt was 16 of 17 serving for 12 points with three aces. Hiatt also had 9 digs and 9 kills at the net. Taylor Mustion was 16 of 16 serving with 11 points and three aces. Bobbi Branner had 27 assists.
