Volleyball: Hershey outlasts rival SutherlandTell North Platte what you think

The Hershey volleyball team had to work hard Thursday to defeat Sutherland, but the Lady Panthers got the job done in three straight sets.

Hershey (11-3) came out on top in the opening set, 25-22, and then cruised to a 25-9 win in the second set.

Sutherland (6-15) battled back in the third set and pushed all the way into overtime before falling, 27-25.

"It was nice to get a three-set win over a quality opponent," Hershey coach Amy Beyer said. "I thought we did a good job of serving (to specific) spots in the second set."

For Hershey, Brooke Munsen was a force at the net for Hershey with 14 kills in the match. Maegan Hiatt was 16 of 17 serving for 12 points with three aces. Hiatt also had 9 digs and 9 kills at the net. Taylor Mustion was 16 of 16 serving with 11 points and three aces. Bobbi Branner had 27 assists.
