More than 300 people attended the Mid-Plains United Way chili cook off Friday at the Eagles Club.

The annual cook off is the start of the United Way fund drive.

Altogether, with admission and the voting campaign for best chili and for best soup, organizers raised $2,654.28, organizer Kirsten Parker of First National Bank said.

There were 317 paid attendees at the cook off.

The winners:

• Best Soup - Gateway Realty Real Living

• Best Chili - Walmart DC

• Best Booth - North Platte Catholic Schools

• People’s Choice - North Platte Catholic Schools
