Volleyball: Maxwell goes 1-1 in PaxtonTell North Platte what you think
 

The Maxwell volleyball team defeated Hayes Center but lost to Paxton Tuesday in the Paxton triangular.

Maxwell (9-6) rolled past Hayes Center (4-7) in the opener, 25-14, 25-16.

Paxton (11-5) got the first set of the next match, 25-18, but Maxwell came back to win the second set handily, 25-15.

In the third set, Paxton dominated most of the way and won, 25-20.

Maxwell coach Lori Mau said her team fought hard all the way.

“We were down 14-24 in the third set (against Paxton) and came back to 20-25,” she said. “The girls never gave up.”

For Maxwell, Anna Crane had 11 kills and 22 digs in the triangular.

Other Maxwell individual statistics: Aura Adkisson - 4 ace serves, 3 kills, 4 stuff blocks, 11 digs. Bailee Keller - 2 ace serves, 12 digs, 26 assists. Josie Cox - 17 kills, 5 stuff blocks, 2 digs, 1 assist. Naomi Schaub - 3 ace serves, 13 digs. Tracy Blake - 4 ace serves, 6 kills, 11 digs.
