Kimberly M. Spotts
At around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, a police officer saw a black Ford F250 pickup traveling in excess of the posted 35-mile-an-hour speed limit in the area of 900 Rodeo Rd.
The officer stopped the pickup and issued the driver, Kimberly Spotts, 43, a citation. Due to her behavior, the officer suspected Spotts might be possessing or under the influence of a controlled substance, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.
Spotts would not consent to a voluntary search, but she did admit to possessing marijuana and she retrieved marijuana paraphernalia from the pickup.
Following further investigation, more paraphernalia commonly used in the use and distribution of methamphetamine was found inside the pickup, including what is suspected to meth, pending official testing, plus marijuana and a large amount of cash.
Spotts was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance (meth) with intent to deliver, and for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.
Bond is set at $100,000.
