Cort Chittick of Wellfleet and Marla Haines of North Platte each won a knife crafted by a North Platte blacksmith.

William Fanter, the blacksmith at the Lincoln County Historical Museum, created two knives out of railroad spikes to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Fort McPherson and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway.

The spikes were raffled and the drawing took place on Monday.

The winners were Chittick and Haines.

Museum director Jim Griffin thanked everyone who purchased a ticket.

"Your support allows the museum to continue pursuing our mission to collect, preserve, and exhibit the history of our region, while providing access to, education about, and inspiration from that history for all," Griffin said.
