Flood water rose to 14.32 feet at Centennial city park Sunday, about 5 inches higher than the maximum (13.9 feet) that was ever projected.

Sheets of water caused by backwash through storm sewers covered parts of the street at McDonald Road near William, about a block north of Adams Middle School, on Sunday.

Part of the street near Spruce and Cedarberry Road was also covered, about four blocks north of Adams Middle School.

The flood South Platte River was thought to be hitting the crest at 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in North Platte.
