Volleyball: Maxwell drops two, gains oneTell North Platte what you think

The Maxwell volleyball team lost two and won one Saturday at a tournament at North Platte Community College.

Paxton overpowered Maxwell in the opening game, 25-16, 25-19.

In game two, St. Pat’s had to fight hard to get a 25-23 win in the first set. The Irish cruised in the second set, 25-11.

“It wasn’t the start to the day that we wanted to have, but I was proud of how the girls kept working to improve our play as the day went along,” Maxwell coach Lori Mau said.

In game three, Maxwell dominated Sutherland, 25-19, 25-16.

“It wasn't the start we wanted but definitely the finish that we wanted to have,” Mau said.

Maxwell individual stats for the day:

Anna Crane - 2 ace serves, 16 kills, 21 digs. Tracy Blake - 1 ace serve, 16 kills, 25 digs. Josie Cox - 15 kills, 4 stuff blocks. Naomi Schaub - 3 ace serves, 59 digs. Kayla Stenger - 40 set assists. Rachel Stubbs - 23 digs. Aura Adkisson - 6 ace serves, 4 kills.
