• Farmers Market (Platte River Mall south parking lot) - Fresh produce, crafters. 4-6 p.m.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) - Live country music featuring Cody Johnson. 9 p.m. cover.


Fri-Sunday, Sept. 20-22

• Annual Rail Fest celebration – Tours of Bailey Yard. Rides, crafts, live music at Cody Park, Handcar races at Golden Spike visitor’s center, Model Train show at National Guard Armory, North Platte Cemetery Tour featuring the life and times of Annie Cook. Continues to 4 p.m. Sunday.


Friday, Sept. 20

• Cody Park – Rail Fest begins 4 p.m. Live entertainment by the Stage Dancers, Chuck, Job and Peter, Golden Classics. Dance from 8-10 p.m. to classic rock from Innocent Mischief.

• North Platte High School – Bulldog Backyard BBQ. 5-7:30 p.m. Adults $10, students $5, under five free.

• Cody Park - Movie in the park presenting “The Life of Timothy Green.” Starts at dusk (7:45).

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) - Live music featuring Bases Loaded. Starts 9 p.m. Cover charge.


Saturday, Sept. 21

• Cody Park pavilion – Live music all day (Rail Fest.) No charge. 7:30 a.m. music by the Hatchbacks along with a free pancake breakfast. Games, vendors, food, displays all over the park. Noon picnic for UP employees. Dance with Latin Jam. 7-10 p.m.

• Farmers Market (downtown Parkade Plaza parking lot) - Fresh produce, crafters. 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

• A-Z Books (507 N. Jeffers) – Ogallala author Chelsea O’Neal’s Juniper’s Princess book signing. 1-3 p.m.


Sunday, Sept. 22

• Neville Center(301 E. 5th St.) - Volunteers and service members speak on The North Platte Canteen. Viewing of The Canteen Spirit film 2-6 p.m.

• Cody Park Rail Fest continues. At the park pavilion, live music starts at 11 a.m. with Christian rock by Catch 153. At noon, gospel harmony by the Gospel Lites. At 12:30 p.m., Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame show. At 2:30 p.m., Mavericks city band.


Tuesday, Sept. 24

• Farmers Market (downtown Parkade Plaza parking lot) - Fresh produce, crafters. 4-6 p.m.


Wednesday, Sept. 25

• North Platte Senior Center (900 E. 10th) - Dance, 7:30-9:30 p.m. $4. Bring finger food.

Saturday, Sept. 28

• Autumn Park Community Room (800 E. Philip) – Fall into Winter craft bazaar. Crafts, hand sewn items, artworks. Free will donation lunch served. 4th annual.

• Farmers Market (downtown Parkade Plaza parking lot) - Fresh produce, crafters. 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Westfield Shopping Area (1827 W. A) - Parking lot craft show and flea market. 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

• D & N Event Center (501 E. Walker Rd.) - Midwest Championship Fighting 8. 7 p.m. General admission $20, Cageside $50.

• A to Z Books - 7-10:30 p.m. Open Mic Nite. Established performers and newcomers. Free-will donation. Refreshments provided or bring your own.
