A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and she will be back for sentencing Oct. 13.

Gutherless broke into a relative’s house while they were gone and took prescription pills. The home owners said they returned home to find a window screen torn, a prescription bottle tampered with and a codeine syrup bottle sitting on a counter, which was not there before.

When approached by police, Gutherless admitted to the crime.

Christopher Russell accepted a plea deal that reduced two charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child to two counts of attempted sexual assault of a child.

Russell pled guilty to the new charges and sentencing was set for Nov. 4. Russell is accused of having sex with two underage girls, one 14 and one 16 years old.

• Nicholas Flynn, 30, of North Platte, accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 90 days jail, two years probation and two years license revocation for third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol.

• Merrill Johnston, 29, of North Platte was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail for shoplifting and possession of methamphetamine.

In a plea deal, the county attorney dropped one count of shoplifting. Johnston received credit for 72 days served.

• Lucas Swarthout, 23, of North Platte, accused of threatening another man with a knife near Lake Maloney, pled not guilty to charges of terroristic threats, use of a weapon during a felony and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
