"Give Me a Break" by Bill Kesler
A photograph by Bill Kesler of North Platte was named best of the Rails Across America art show downtown at the North Platte Art and Gift Gallery.
The work depicts a woman in a dress working as a locomotive engineer. It is entitled “Give Me A Break.”
Kesler took the allegorical photo inside the locomotive at Cody Park with a live model. He developed the photo with a sepia tone finish.
Kesler also won honorable mention in photography in the annual Rail Fest art show for his “Trains Stop for Servicing.”

The artworks can be viewed from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays until Sept. 28. The artist’s reception is from 4-6 p.m. Saturday. Also, a special showing will be held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.
