Partner-up rodeo to be held at fairgroundsTell North Platte what you think

A special “Partner Up Rodeo” will be held Wednesday at the Lincoln County

Fairgrounds so students with special needs can be cowboys and cowgirls for a day. Students ride horses, learn how to rope, interact with animals and study agriculture, said Phylis Graney of ESU 16, one of the sponsors of the rodeo.

ESU 16 received a $1,000 grant from Farm Credit Services of America for “tack boxes” for the rodeo.

Each box contains a core set of tools that cowboys need, including a lariat, spurs, halter, curry comb, brush, sample of feed grains and so forth. The boxes also contain agriculture based games and books, Graney said.

Events run from noon to 3 p.m.
