• Neville Center (301 E. 5th St.) - Town Hall Lecture Series featuring 70s-80s television stars Bob Eubanks and Jamie Farr. 10:30 a.m. Series tickets $60 for four lectures.

• A to Z Books - 7-10:30 p.m. Open Mic Nite. Author Barb Mohrman, author of Four Blue Stars in the Window, is the featured guest. Established performers and newcomers. Free-will donation. Refreshments provided or bring your own.

• Sculley's Shooter's (2221 East 4th) - Live rock music by Paramount. 9 p.m. Cover charge.

• St. Patrick's Church (near 4th St. and Chestnut) - Breakfast/brunch. $6 adults. $4 children under 10. 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. All doors to the hall will be open.

Rides, crafts, live music at Cody Park, Handcar races at Golden Spike visitor's center, Model Train show at National Guard Armory, North Platte Cemetery Tour featuring the life and times of Annie Cook. Special displays at Lincoln County Historical Museum. Continues to 4 p.m. Sunday.


Friday, Sept. 20

• Cody Park – Rail Fest begins 4 p.m. Live entertainment by the Stage Dancers, Chuck, Job and Peter, Golden Classics. Dance from 8-10 p.m. to classic rock from Innocent Mischief. (Rail Fest continues through Sunday.)

• Cody Park - Movie in the park presenting "The Life of Timothy Green." Starts at dusk (7:45).

• Sculley's Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) - Live music featuring Bases Loaded. Starts 9 p.m. Cover charge.


Saturday, Sept. 21

• Cody Park pavilion – Live music all day (Rail Fest.) No charge. 7:30 a.m. music by the Hatchbacks along with a free pancake breakfast. Games, vendors, food, displays all over the park. Noon picnic for UP employees. Music is in pavilion, dozens of performers, capped by a dance with Latin Jam. 7-10 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 22

• Neville Center(301 E. 5th St.) - Volunteers and service members speak on The North Platte Canteen. Viewing of The Canteen Spirit film 2-6 p.m.

• Cody Park Rail Fest continues. At the park pavilion, live music starts at 11 a.m. with Christian rock by Catch 153. At noon, gospel harmony by the Gospel Lites. At 12:30 p.m., Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame show. At 2:30 p.m., Mavericks city band.
