The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office participated in the nationwide “You Drink And Drive You Lose” traffic enforcement action during the last two weeks of August.
The enforcement action ran from Aug. 16-Sept. 2. In addition to regular hours, five deputies worked 175 hours of overtime during that time, the sheriff's office said.
In all, deputies made 229 traffic stops, issued 194 warnings for various traffic and equipment violations, issued 12 speeding citations, cited one person for minor in possession of alcohol, cited another for an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, arrested two people for driving while under the influence and cited a man for debauching a minor.
Funding was provided through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
