The North Platte softball team went 3-0 Saturday to win the McCook Invitational for the second straight year.

In the first game, two pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter for North Platte in a 22-0 victory in three innings over Alliance.

Marissa Ramos and Rylie Cotton together had six strikeouts and no walks.

The North Platte offense exploded in the first. Alliance had no answer as North Platte scored 14 runs. They pounded Alliance pitchers, as six hitters combined for eight hits, 12 RBI, and 14 runs.

North Platte tacked on another seven runs in the third.

Mikenzi Wiseman went 2-2 with 2 RBI, Kaite Franzen was 2-3 with an RBI and Jenny Keck was 1-2 with 3 RBI. Sally Hengen, Willow Chitty and Ramos all had 2 RBI each.

In game two, North Platte rolled over Holdrege 8-0 after a five-run rally in the second inning.

North Platte's catcher, Wiseman, was perfect at the plate, going 3-3. She singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Franzen kept Holdrege off the scoreboard for the five innings she pitched. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits, while striking out four.

Hannah Hays went 2-4 and Christina Yoshida was 2-3 at the plate.

In the championship game, North Platte took on No. 10 ranked McCook.

North Platte beat McCook 6-2 in seven innings behind Wiseman, who collected three hits. Wiseman tripled in the fourth and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Keck recorded the win for North Platte. She allowed just two runs over seven innings, struck out one, walked one, and gave up seven hits.

The game was scoreless until North Platte broke the ice with two runs in the fourth. The rally started with Wiseman's triple that bounced of the left-field fence.

McCook came back to score two runs in the fourth, on an RBI single by Tiara Schmidt and an RBI single by Cassa Broomfield.

North Platte took the lead in the fifth, scoring two runs on two singles, and stayed on top until the final out. North Platte added two more runs in the top of the seventh. A wild pitch scored Hengen for the inning's first run, followed by a Chitty single, scoring Franzen.

North Platte is in action in a doubleheader in Grand Island against the Class A No. 5 rated Islanders.
