Community Connections Mentoring will host the annual Doggy Dash and Puppy Olympics on Saturday, Sept. 7 next to the Cody Park Pool. Registration for the Doggy Dash begins at 8:15 a.m. This is a 5K that can be run competitively or for fun with a dog. Prizes will be given for the “best dressed dog and runner duo.”
Immediately following the run, contestants will vie for the honor of winning the free Biscuit Bite-Off contest. To enter the biscuit bite off, bring 10 of your homemade dog biscuits and the recipe. Dog judges pick the ones they like best. In case of a tie the mentoring kids make the final decision. The winner gets a free photo and bragging rights.
At 10:30 a.m., local celebrities and their dogs will vie in three fun competitions, and at 11 a.m. the public gets the chance to compete in 12 competitions with their dogs. The contests are youth friendly and suitable for all dogs. They range from the Best Trick to the Clean Plate Club and Look-a-like.
