Troopers track speeding biker in OmahaTell North Platte what you think

State troopers used an airplane Thursday evening to track down a speeding motorcycle clocked at 140 miles an hour in Omaha.

Just after 7:30 p.m., troopers were checking traffic with help of the Nebraska State Patrol airplane, and the airplane pilot clocked a black Yamaha motorcycle traveling 130 mph on the West Dodge Expressway.

First, a trooper in a car tried to stop the motorcycle, but it sped away, reaching a speed of 140 mph, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said. The airplane followed the motorcycle for nearly seven minutes before the driver finally stopped at a home at 3102 North 161st St., Collins said.

The driver, Benjamin R. Maenner, 20, was cited for speeding, willful reckless driving, stoplight violation, no insurance and no registration.
