The North Platte softball team (7-2) traveled to Kearney Thursday for a doubleheader with Hastings and Lincoln East.
In the first game, Mikenzi Wiseman and Willow Chitty each went 2-3, helping North Platte to a 4-1 victory over Hastings. Wiseman had an RBI and Chitty had two RBI to pace North Platte offensively.
The lone run of the game for Hastings crossed the plate in the first inning on an RBI single by Sophia Pankratz.
Jenny Keck was the winning pitcher for North Platte.
In the second game, North Platte faced Lincoln East, who was previously ranked No. 10 in Class A.
Christina Yoshida went 2-3, but North Platte fell to Lincoln East, 5-4 in seven innings.
Danelle Snyder and Payton Swanson sparked Lincoln East. Snyder and Swanson teamed up for five hits and two RBI.
North Platte jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but continued to leave runners stranded on base throughout the game.
Lincoln East scored two runs in the third inning on a single and a wild pitch and led the rest of the way.
Katie Franzen took the loss for North Platte.
North Platte is on action in McCook this weekend at the McCook Invitational.
