The Nebraska State Patrol took 91 drivers off Nebraska roads for driving under the influence during the nationwide “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose”, special enforcement campaign Aug. 16-Sept. 2.

Troopers and communications specialists put in overtime hours during the two week enforcement campaign, thanks in part to a nearly $28,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.

Designed to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving, the special enforcement effort encompassed the heavily traveled Labor Day holiday weekend, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

The statistics:

91 - DUI arrests

24 - Minor in Possession (MIP)

67 - Open Container

2,224 - Speeding citations

128 - Driving Under Suspension

94 - No proof of Insurance

446- Seat Belt citations & warnings

479- motorists assists

58- Child restraint citations & warnings
