The “Redhead Express” will perform. The Tennessee group consists of four sister musicians who play guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and sing, among other talents.

The public is invited. Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be available. The concert will help kick off the 2013-14 school year at the college.

The Redhead Express has entertained at more than 1,300 county fairs, concerts, and festivals during the last six years.

It should be a very relaxing and entertaining evening for the entire family,” said Scott Mickelsen, PhD, NCTA’s Associate Dean. “We invite the public to join in this entertaining event.”

Redhead Express, under the guidance of producer Paul Worley, excels in a genre of stars such as the Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Collin Raye and Lady Antebellum. Many of their songs are written by lead singer Kendra Walker.

Their music is described as American roots music (country, old country, bluegrass, old timey, Irish, gospel.)

Redhead Express is comprised of Kendra, 22, on guitar, lead vocals and songwriter; LaRae,21, on banjo and the ‘utility’ player;” Alisa, 19, on fiddle and mandolin; and Meghan, 16, on bass guitar.

Parking is available immediately south of the student union also called “The Barn” on Seventh and University, or at the lot north of the Education Center.
