A new right turn will be constructed at Leota St. and the busy Jeffers St. intersection, the city’s engineering consultant said Thursday.
Tom Werblow said a crew will widen Leota at the intersection and west about 100 feet to create a right turn lane onto Jeffers. The intersection is a bottleneck during busy times of the day and a new turn lane should alleviate some congestion, Werblow said.
The job will take about three weeks, Werblow said.
Officials ask motorists to use another route, such as turning west off Jeffers a block or two sooner. If it is necessary to drive past the work site, be cautious and use patience.
