Former police chief sentenced for child sex abuseTell North Platte what you think

Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning announced Wednesday that former Hemingford police chief Mark Lindburg was sentenced to 20-24 years in prison for attempted first degree sexual assault of a child.

Lincburg pled no contest to the charge last month in Box Butte County District Court.

“This man engaged in sexual relations with an underage girl while on duty,” Bruning said. “Today’s sentence ensures he is held accountable for his reprehensible crime.”

Assistant Attorneys General Matt Lierman and Kale Burdick are handling the case.
