Clark is the mother of two young boys that were kept inside a mobile home in a dog kennel. She lived with three other adults. Police said all four of the adults were aware of the living conditions and confinement of the two boys, and they all faced charges.

Clark told police that she was afraid the boys might climb out the window.

Police said the house and yard were filthy, with urine, feces and trash inside and out, but there was no evidence suggesting the children were physically beaten or malnourished.

News of their arrests spread throughout the country, but prosecutors had trouble making the charges stick because police did not properly advise them of their Miranda rights on the night of their arrests, so key evidence was inadmissible.

Clark was eventually convicted of felony child abuse and sentenced to 120 days in jail with 107 days credit, followed by two years of probation.

An additional charge of false imprisonment was dropped.

But Clark left the 11th Judicial District without authorization from her probation officer and had been hanging out in Lexington and Wahoo for about 3-4 weeks, prosecutors said July 30 when she was arrested again.

She also missed several required group sessions and was generally uncooperative during probation, according to district court files.
