How to 'shelter in place' and the services of the public health department will be the topics of the next LincUP meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 in the student lounge on the north campus of the North Platte Community College.
Sally Brecks, Health Services Administrator for the West Central District Health Department will describe the services provided by WCDHD as well as their role in community emergency response.
The LincUP panel and the West Central District Health Department have partnered in efforts to help the community learn how to shelter in place in the event of a chemical release.
LincUP meetings are open to the public and we encourage those interested in knowing more about this agency and community emergency response to attend. WCDHD will also be providing information and shelter in place kits at their booth during Rail Fest.
LincUP (Lincoln County-UPRR Community Advisory Panel) is a volunteer panel of community members and railroad representatives that meets monthly to explore health, safety and environmental issues involving the railroad.
If you would like more information about this meeting or are interested in finding out how you can join the LincUP panel, please call LincUP Facilitator Lorre McKeone at 308-532-7246.
