Dawn M. Herweh

A domestic fight between two women Wednesday evening brought police to the 800 block of S. Poplar.

The women began to argue and the ruckus turned physical when the suspect and domestic partner, Dawn Herweh, 35, pushed a 42-year-old woman down some stairs inside the home, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.

Police got the call around 7:45 p.m.

Brown said the women began to wrestle, and Herweh began to choke the victim.

The victim complained of pain, and following the investigation, police charged Herweh with several crimes -- third degree domestic assault, strangulation and two counts of child abuse/neglect because there were children present during the fight.
