About 55 children ages 8-15 took part Saturday in the Maniohuta Youth Archery Day near Lake Maloney. Organizers said the children visited seven separate stations:
• Safety with Capt. Adam Parsons from the North Platte Fire Dept/EMS
• Balloon shoot
• Long distance shooting
• 3D animals
• Moving target shots
• Clay target shots
• Target identification
Lunch was donated by Nebraskaland National Bank, Pepsi, Precision Interior and the Ogden family.
Prize drawings included two bows, one donated by the Omaha Scheels and the other by Two Feathers Archery and Rob's Skidloader Service.
Other prizes included a block archery target donated by Don & Janelda Younghans, a one-year membership to the Maniohuta Archery Club and a Youth Lifetime Hunting permit donated by the Buffalo Bill Kiwanis Club.
