Pickett was caught June 27 during a search of his house by his parole officer and local police. They found two glass pipes and some baggies that tested positive for meth.

Pickett pled no contest to the charge. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with credit for 46 days served. He is also held in jail without bond for a parole violation.

Pickett was sentenced in August 2009 to a minimum of 4 years, 8 months and a maximum of 11 years in the state penitentiary for attempted distribution of marijuana and distribution of methamphetamine.

His jail record shows he has been paroled twice and violated it both times.

Bowers

Tanner Bowers, 22, of North Platte, pled guilty to third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol, plus one count of theft.

Bowers was arrested May 2, after police were called to the Platte River Mall about a stolen car. Sheriff’s deputies later found Bowers intoxicated and driving the stolen car.

Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Jennifer Wellan asked for a lengthy jail sentence and District Judge Richard Birch handed down 180 days on each count but set the sentences to run concurrently, or at the same time.

Bowers will get credit for 92 days served and he will lose his driver’s license for 15 years.

Comeau

Ashley Comeau, 23, of North Platte, was convicted of attempted possession of methamphetamine.

She was arrested July 6 by the Nebraska State Patrol.

Comeau pled no contest to the charge.

Wellan told the court that Comeau has very little history of offenses and said Comeau “should do well with probation.”

Birch agreed and sentenced her to 18 months probation.
