Tracie L. Barnett

Tracie Barnett, 51, of Wellfleet, was sentenced Monday on two counts of probation violation.

Barnett will serve 180 days, except for 69 days credit she accrued from two stints already in the county jail while awaiting court proceedings.

Before sentencing, defense attorney Blaine Gillett asked for probation this time too, but Lincoln County Attorney Rebecca Harling objected.

Harling noted that Barnett was already charged with violating probation twice, so probation this time would “just not be appropriate.”

Lincoln County District Judge Richard Birch agreed, saying “continuing Tracie on probation would not be appropriate.”

Barnett was arrested in May and charged with drug possession as well as probation violation. She was also booked for 10 days in April on a drug possession charge.

She was charged twice before for amphetamine possession -- in April and May 2010.

Her Lincoln County arrest history also shows six probation violations during a long list of violations that go back to 2000.
