Snakes on tap at Children's MuseumTell North Platte what you think

Children can learn about snakes, and why they do what they do, in a special program Aug. 13 at the North Platte area Children’s Museum.

The museum will welcome Dennis Ferraro, extension educator and herpetologist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's School of Natural Resources.

Ferraro will share his love of snakes with an educational program that can be enjoyed as a hands-on experience or from a distance.

Organizers hope the program will replace attitudes of fear and prejudice with curiosity, intrigue, understanding and compassion.

NebraskaLand National Bank is sponsoring this show and allowing two programming times – one at 1 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. All other exhibits will be shut down that night.

Admission is free to members and $4 for non-members, ages 2-59. Tots are admitted for free and seniors for $3.
