New Video: Nebraska from aboveTell North Platte what you think

A small group of people set out to expose the world from above.

“We are passionate about what we do,” they say on their you tube channel “We want to help people explore this amazing planet that we live on.”

The crew is from New Zealand and Australia. They work with a high definition video camera mounted on the front of a helicopter.

In early July, they filmed Nebraska, and on the 7th and last day, they shot film from Ainsworth to Mullen, Valentine, and the Bowring ranch, with tanking, golfing and herding. That film is posted at lower right on the Bulletin's front web page, courtesy of You Tube.

The effort is called “World from Above.” The films have appeared internationally on television on the History Channel.

Nebraska Education Television, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Nebraska Tourism Commission and Nebraska Game and Parks collaborated to hire the London-based firm to do the filming.

The Nebraska Tourism Commission will receive many hours of raw footage to incorporate into new advertising and marketing campaigns.

"We are better together and we look forward to increasing our partnerships and strengthening collaborations," said Kathy McKillip, Nebraska Tourism director.
