The Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Aug. 15.
The meeting will convene at 9 a.m. at the Ramada Inn, 301 Second Ave. in Kearney.
In addition to regular board business, the meeting will include the election of officers and naming of committees and assignments for the 2013-14 fiscal year. Funding requests will be considered and reports will be provided on program activities in the areas of research, market development, producer education and federal legislation.

The Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board administers the one-cent per hundredweight check-off, which is assessed on all grain sorghum sold in the state. The board’s annual budget is allocated to the areas of research, market development, producer education and federal legislation.
