Driver stops, trooper finds 127 pounds of pot Tell North Platte what you think

Two Pennsylvania men were jailed Thursday near Sidney for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, after a trooper found 127 pounds of marijuana from their vehicle.

Around 5 p.m. Thursday, the trooper stopped to check on a 2013 Chevy Traverse that was improperly parked, with the driver relieving himself, just off the MM 48 exit on eastbound I-80, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

Collins said when the trooper approached the vehicle he smelled the odor of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle led to the pot, plus a pound of hashish and a small amount of cocaine. The marijuana was in three large bags in the cargo area, Collins said.

The driver, Kenneth R. Turner, 23 of Pittsburgh, was lodged in the Cheyenne County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver as well as public urination.

A passenger, Gabriel T. Nowak, 30, of Finleyville, PA., is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
