Seniors fall to Kearney, Twin Cities at districtsTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte First National Bank Seniors went two and out at districts after losing to Kearney and Twin Cities.

The First Nationals, who end their season with a record of 22-28, opened districts with a 10-7 loss to Kearney on July 19.

North Platte scored the first two runs in the first inning. But Kearney came back to tie in the third and then scored five in the fourth to take a commanding lead.

The Nationals scored five runs in the last three innings but it wasn't enough. Kearney had 20 hits against pitchers Dalton Pflughaupt, Ty Brockmoller and Riley Vieyra.

On July 20, North Platte went out with a whimper against Twin Cities, losing 9-1.

The First Nationals, with Ben Sukraw starting on the mound, held the Zephyrs scoreless for the first three innings. But Twin Cities scored in four innings straight to take control.

North Platte's only run came on a home run by Alec Wesslund.
