Bonds were cut in half Thursday for a North Platte man accused of a machete attack as well as a woman who allegedly broke into a relativeís home and stole some prescription pills.
George Trejo, 35, allegedly cut the North Platte man and his son in their faces July 3 with a machete. His initial bond was set at $100,000.
Police said the attack occurred in 1400 block of East 12th.
One of the victims, Richard Cooper, 55, arrived at Great Plains Regional Medical Center during the late night July 3 with a cut on the left side of his face and forehead, plus a broken bone above his left eye, police said.
Cooperís son Richard Beck, 27, of Commerce City, Colo., was cut in the face and hand. He told police he tried to intervene.
Trejo is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon.
Also, bond was lowered to $12,500 for Stephanie Gutherless, who allegedly broke into a house June 26 and stole some pills, putting her back behind bars just two months after she got out of the womenís correctional center.
A pair of homeowners told the North Platte police that they left home for a couple of hours and returned to find things out of place. Some loose change was missing and a bottle of prescription pills had been tampered with, investigators said.
Gutherless was charged with burglary. Her initial bond was set at $25,000.
