Trooper finds 40 pounds of pot on I-80Tell North Platte what you think

A traffic stop on Interstate 80 in York County over the weekend led to the seizure of 40 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of a South Dakota man.

Just after 10 a.m., Saturday, July 6, a trooper stopped a westbound 2008 Chevy Impala near the Bradshaw Interchange for making an improper turn and failure to signal, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

A drug-detection dog indicated the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A search led to the seizure of 40 lbs. of marijuana from the trunk, Collins said.

The driver, Kevin Lee, 44, of Sioux Falls, S.D., was lodged in the York County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
