A transient was arrested Wednesday evening after a North Platte police officer responded to a complaint that a man exposed himself at Memorial Park on East Fourth.

Several witnesses said the suspect, Patrick Scanlan, had his pants down to his ankles twice in the middle of the park, exposing both his buttocks and genitals, police spokesman John Deal said.

Deal said several adults and children were in the park at the time.

Witnesses directed police to the bathroom in the park, where Scanlan was found, intoxicated. He was shirtless and his pants were falling down while he talked, Deal said. The officer also noted that Scanlan was not wearing underwear.

In court Friday, Scanlan’s bond was set at $5,000.
