Country music singer Reggie Shaw of Overton will take the stage Thursday at the Ft. Cody Music Series.

Shaw has a sincere and expressive country voice and impressive achievements as an entertainer.

In 2010, he was a top-five national finalist in Texaco Country Showdown in Nashville.

Shaw lived, worked and performed in Nashville for the better part of a decade. He is in steady demand to perform wherever he goes.

One of his best known songs is “I’m Gonna Miss Him,” written for his grandfather, who was his best friend.

Shaw has performed often in North Platte, appearing at Shooter’s and Rail Fest, among other venues.

This week, the Thursday night live music series will also feature three middle school girls from Brule this week who play some hard rock. They are known as Tiger and the Freedom Birds. They will open the show.

Each Thursday, shows are from 6-9 p.m. in the courtyard behind the Ft. Cody Trading Post, which is near North Platte’s main I-80 interchange. There is room for children to romp and food and beverages are sold. Admission is $5 for adults. Kids under 12 are admitted free.
