North Platte (26-12) went 2-0 in pool play to earn the No. 1 seed in their pool and a berth in the Gold division of tournament play.

North Platte grabbed the lead early and refused to relinquish it against Rapid City Elite, recording a 9-1 victory in the first game of tournament play.

A two-run single by Aura Adkisson in the first inning, an RBI single by Reanna Crane, and an error during the second inning supplied the offense early for North Platte. Mikenzi Wiseman's triple in the second inning kept the North Platte momentum rolling. Crane racked up two RBIs on two hits for North Platte.

Pitcher Kaite Franzen brought the heat against Rapid City during her outing. Rapid City managed just two hits off of the North Platte pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one, and struck out two during her six innings of work.

Then, North Platte faced the Colorado Stampede, with the winner earning a trip to the championship game.

Kaitlynn Schultz allowed just two runs, but North Platte couldn't get its offense going in a 2-0 defeat to the Stampede.

Wiseman put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for North Platte. She doubled in the second inning and tripled in the seventh inning but was left stranded.

Schultz was a workhorse in the circle for North Platte as she pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out one.

Next, North Platte will be in action June 29-30 in Seward for the Concordia Classic.

Thanks to Kelly Wiseman for sending this recap.
