Vieyra was arrested in September. She pent a month in jail then went to treatment.

Lincoln County Attorney, Rebecca Harling told the court that Vieyra is trying to get sober.

“She does have a long record of drinking and driving problems, but she has successfully completed inpatient treatment at Saint Monica’s Behavioral Health Services in Lincoln, she looks real good and seems to be doing real well,” Harling said.

Nevertheless, Harling objected to probation and credit for time already served.

When sentence as handed down, Vieyra received exactly that. She got credit for 30 days served and 56 days in treatment. She was also fined $1,000, but received credit at the rate of $17 a day for the costs of treatment. She will pay the remaining $48 of the fine.

Vieyra’s will be on probation for two years. Her driver’s license was suspended for five years.

According to sheriff’s records, Vieyra was arrested for driving under the influence in June 2000, January 2001 and February 2001. In July 2009 Vieyra she was charged with DUI, hit and run, willful reckless driving and assault of a police officer.

In the 2009 arrest, a sheriff’s deputy saw her driving near Cody Park at an estimated speed of 80 miles an hour.

North Platte Police Officer Adam Charter later arrested Vieyra near the pond in the park. He took her to the jail for alcohol testing. After the test, Charter tried to put the handcuffs back on Vieyra and she fought back. She bit him and kicked jail personnel.

In September she was picked up again and sent to treatment.
