Against an older team, Reanna Crane went 3-3 at the plate to spark the age 16 and under North Platte Express to a 7-2 victory in five innings over 18U Lexington Tuesday
Crane tripled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.
Bri Schade recorded the win for North Platte Express 16U on their home field at the Dowhower softball complex. Schade allowed two runs over four innings and struck out four, walked five and gave up just two hits.
Shayla Kummer put away the final three outs to get the save for the Express.
The Express stayed on top until the final out, after taking the lead in the first, scoring on an RBI single by Mikenzi Wiseman.
the Express posted two runs each in the second, third and fourth. In the second, the Express scored on a wild pitch, scoring Syd Standage.
The Express piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Kayln Hahn singled to score Sally Hengen. That was followed by Sadie Vargas's double, bringing home Hahn.
The Express are 7-5 on the season. They travel to Lexington Thursday to play both Lexington and Gothenburg. They return to North Platte Saturday and Sunday for the Nebraskaland Days girls softball tournament.
