Sheriff's deputies arrested Seth Schuett, 23, of Brady on Monday after they found eight guns that were stolen a week ago in Maxwell. Several of the guns turned up at a rummage sale in Sutherland.
The guns were stolen sometime after 2 p.m. May 24 and before 10:30 a.m. on May 26. The thief broke into a home on West Second in Maxwell and removed several items, including these weapons, the sheriff's office said:
• Winchester Weatherby 300 w/ Tasco varmint variable scope

Deputies received a call from the victim on Saturday who said he found some of his stolen firearms at a rummage sale in Sutherland.
Deputies responded and secured five firearms, which were identified by the victim. The person running the rummage sale said he bought the weapons from Schuett.
Deputies contacted Schuett Monday, and he allowed them to search his home, where they found another missing gun, according to a sheriff's statement.
Schuett told deputies he sold the other weapon to another person. Deputies tracked that person down and he gave them the final missing firearm.
Schuett is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of a stolen firearm. It is his first arrest, according to sheriff's records.
