Mail: IRS is corrupt, time for Fair TaxTell North Platte what you think

The income tax code is complicated beyond comprehension. An institution like the IRS should not exist in a society of free people. The great power that came to congress with the income tax and 16th amendment has corrupted many members of Congress.

Although largely ignored, the solution to our present woes with the IRS has been before Congress since 1999. It's called the FairTax. If passed it would replace the income tax and annihilate the IRS.

Most congresspersons have disregarded it because they thrive on the power they have because of the income tax. Many grant tax favors to the well connected in exchange for contributions to their re-election campaigns. Since 2001 congress has changed the tax code nearly 5000 times; on average more than once/day. With every change the code gets longer and more complex.

Your representative, Adrian Smith, sits on the House Ways and Means committee where all legislation regarding taxation must originate. He has a responsibility to all Americans to fulfill his duties faithfully but he answers only to his constituents. Call his Washington DC office at (202) 225-6435 email him through his web site. Tell him to actively advocate for and vote for the FairTax!
