Teens hospitalized in car wreckTell North Platte what you think

A teenage driver lost control of her car Wednesday afternoon on a winding road north of Sutherland, sending three people to the hospital.

Alexandria Lurz, 16, of Ogallala was driving west on Snake Road when she hit a puddle of water and lost control. The car hit an embankment, rolled over and came to rest on its wheels, the sheriff's office said.

The wreck happened around 2:30 p.m.

There were four people in the vehicle. Three of the four, including Lurz, were taken by Sutherland Rescue to Great Plains Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No citations were issued and alcohol was not a factor, the sheriff's office said. One person in the car was not wearing a seat restraint and was the most severly injured.

Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer asks drivers to use caution on roadways, especially gravel and dirt roads. Recent rains have made soft spots in the roads, so please slow down and always wear a seatbelt, Kramer said.
