Hershey transient charged with terroristic threatsTell North Platte what you think

Mark Anthony Palm, 39, address unknown, allegedly threatened to kill two women Sunday, and he stood for arraignment Tuesday on charges of terroristic threats, domestic assault and theft by taking.

Palm allegedly caused quite a commotion Sunday near Hershey along a bank of the North Platte River.

A caller told the dispatch center that a man caused a disturbance that scared several people away.

Deputies said there was evidence that Palm’s girlfriend and another woman were not only verbally assaulted, but Palm grabbed his girlfriend, threw her to the ground, and told her “I could kill you right now.”

Palm then allegedly held the two women against their will, saying he could kill them.

He allegedly took $200 cash, a debit card and cell phone from his girlfriend, earning him a theft charge. By the time deputies arrived, Palm could not be found, but deputies found him later, at 7 p.m. Monday, at a home on East 12th St., where he was arrested.

Palm asked for a public defender. Lincoln County Attorney Rebecca Harling asked for a high bond, saying that Palm has been to prison twice, has a prior conviction for domestic violence in Hamilton County and is also wanted in Nance County, Buffalo County and Hall counties.

Harling asked for a high bond, and Judge Michael Piccolo obliged, setting it at $75,000.

Palm is listed as a transient with no North Platte address, according to the sheriff’s office.
