The Lincoln County Historical Museum will hold its second annual tractor parade at 2:30 p.m. June 8. Anyone wanting to display their tractor during the festival or enter the parade need to bring their tractor in by 9 a.m. on June 8. Ribbons will be given out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. There is no entry fee for the parade or to display your tractor during the festival.
The Lincoln County Historical Museum reminds everyone they still have time to enter the beard growing contestthat will be held at 1 p.m. on June 9 during the Heritage Festival. There will be two divisions: natural beard (beard & mustache) and styled beard (beard & mustache or just beard, which is styled).
Duck Dynasty (Duck Commander) prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in each division. An entry fee of $5 will allow a contestant to compete in one division.
All entries must be submitted by June 5. Entry forms are at the museum or on the museum’s website, www.lincolncountymuseum.org.
Enter your child in the Heritage Festival's first Kid's Boot Kicking contest at 1 p.m. on June 8 near the museum’s gazebo. The goal of the contest is to see who can kick their shoe the farthest.
There will be two age groups. 5 years old and younger and 6-10 years old.
The competition is free and prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each group.
The Children's Museum will oversee this event. To enter, simply show up that day and sign up with the children’s museum staff. Boots are optional; any shoe will work.
