At around 11 p.m. Saturday night, police responded to a mobile home in the 2000 block of W. 16th on a report that Carl McKinney, 26, started fires there.
The North Platte Fire Department officers learned McKinney had spread gasoline from a burning fire pit in his back yard to other areas, including an adjoining neighbor’s fence line, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.
There was some damage to the moblie home and a television cable.
McKinney was charged with second-degree arson and jailed.
McKinney lived in the mobile home with a roomate, Brown said.
McKinney's arrest is his thrid of the year. He was charged with disturbing the peace in February and again in March, according to sheriff's records.
