The Nebraska Wheat Board is proud to select and support Mollie Wilken of Bloomfield as its new college intern.
The NWB office in Lincoln welcomed Wilken, who began her duties on May 13.
She will be a senior in agricultural journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln next school year. As part of her internship, she will oversee and compose crop progress report statements, contribute to communication outreach programs and help with education and promotion activities.
“We really enjoy the opportunity to be able to offer internships here at the Wheat Board,” said Royce Schaneman, executive director of the Nebraska Wheat Board. “I think it’s a good thing to give college students experience and exposure to the wheat industry.”
The Nebraska Wheat Board administers the check-off of 0.4% of net value of wheat marketed in Nebraska at the point of first sale.
The board invests the funds in programs of international and domestic market development and improvement, policy development, research, promotion, and education.
